This is NOT a physical product. This listing is for a downloadable PDF file of our Charcoal & Tea Tree face soap recipe.

This soap was a main product line soap for years and many folks swore by it for their acne-prone skin. This recipe includes a printer-friendly version.

This soap recipe is all-natural, vegan, and palm-oil free!

This recipe was formulated early on at Muddy Mint as a face soap that doesn’t use any heavy oils or butters. Activated charcoal and bentonite clay are traditionally used for acne-prone skin and we’ve upped the superfat to take into account any drying
effects. This soap is great for a periodic detox or for those with oily or combination skin.

This recipe is great for a beginner that wants to experiment with using essential oils and activated charcoal. This recipe also uses softer oils, so it is an easy batter to work with.

This is a comprehensive 10-page PDF download, which includes a one-page quick recipe that you can easily print and a full step-by-step instruction guide. We also include the recipe calculator from soapcalc.net.

Please note that this is a beginner recipe but is not intended for a brand new soapmaker! Do not purchase unless you're confident that you can do the following:

  • make and use a 50/50 lye-water solution (instructions included)
  • use additional liquids (aloe vera)

Essential oils used in this recipe:

  • tea tree and lavender

If you've made soap before, you shouldn't have any trouble following the instructions, even if you've never made a 50/50 lye-water solution. We walk you through all the steps but having a few batches under your belt will definitely benefit you!

This recipe is the exact recipe we use to make our Charcoal & Tea Tree soap that has been part of our main product line for years. Since we won't be making it very often, we've decided to share it with all of you!

You may NOT share or re-sell this recipe PDF. You are welcome to make and sell the soap you make from this recipe, with credit to Muddy Mint.

I really love the Muddy Mint recipes and the Charcoal & Tea Tree Face Soap did not disappoint

I really love the Muddy Mint recipes and the Charcoal & Tea Tree Face Soap did not disappoint. I highly recommend buying the book where there are sooo many recipes and is super instructive. I also bought the Mountain Man recipe on the website. It is my favorite for sure. One more thing, folks are looking for these soaps so it is to your benefit to let everyone know these are the Muddy Mint recipes. Super grateful to Simi and gang for sharing and sad to see them go. I came to the scene too late, after they closed, and never got to buy an original.
